About this tag
Discussions tagged with 'vds' on WindowsForum.com cover two distinct areas: the Virtual Disk Service (VDS) in Windows and Microsoft's VDS (Value-Added Distributor) partner program. On the technical side, users troubleshoot VDS Basic Provider event ID 1 errors on Hyper-V guest operating systems, issues with DiskRaid.exe not populating the Array Lun number correctly, and problems where Windows cannot retrieve disk information during an OS upgrade, often resolved by ensuring the Virtual Disk Service is set to automatic. Separately, the tag includes a thread about Microsoft's VDS program for cloud sales outreach, which has raised concerns among partners about trust and the impact on long-standing customer relationships.
