vm player
About this tag
VMware Player is a free virtualization tool that allows users to run virtual machines on Windows or Linux. Discussions on WindowsForum.com cover using VM Player to boot a virtualized Windows 2008 Domain Controller, where Active Directory may not function correctly after virtualization. Users also troubleshoot installation privilege issues when installing VM Player on a desktop. To create new virtual machines for use with VM Player, members recommend using EasyVMX, an online virtual machine builder that generates .vmx and .vmdk files, or QEMU, a free tool that can create VMs compatible with VM Player. These workarounds enable testing of multiple operating systems without purchasing VMware Workstation.
