voice addition
About this tag
The voice addition tag covers discussions about adding new text-to-speech voices to Windows, particularly focusing on issues where installed voices do not appear in the voice selection list. Common challenges include navigating different SAPI (Speech Application Programming Interface) configurations, such as the distinction between 32-bit and 64-bit speech engines, and managing permissions when copying system files like sapi.cpl. Users often seek help with voice installation for languages like French, troubleshooting why a voice appears in one control panel location but not another. The tag reflects practical problems with voice addition in Windows speech settings.
