About this tag
Volume resize in Windows involves adjusting partition sizes using tools like Disk Management. A common issue is shrinking a volume to create unallocated space, but then being unable to create a new partition due to errors like 'not enough space.' This often occurs when the unallocated space is not contiguous or when system files block the operation. Users may need to use third-party tools or move files to overcome limitations. The tag covers troubleshooting such resize failures, especially on systems with a single drive where Windows is installed.
