About this tag
This tag covers discussions about Windows 7 running slower than Windows 10 on the same SSD in a multi-boot setup. Users report that while both operating systems boot quickly, Windows 7 exhibits reduced SSD performance for tasks like file copying, games, and software such as Photoshop, despite proper AHCI settings and no security software interference. Web browsing and email load at full speed on Windows 7, but games like Dragon Age 3 load significantly faster on Windows 10. Some older games and software show minimal speed differences compared to a traditional hard drive. The tag focuses on troubleshooting SSD performance discrepancies between Windows 7 and Windows 10 on identical hardware.
