About this tag
The walking tag on WindowsForum.com covers a mix of lighthearted image threads and practical discussions. Users share images of walking with friends or pets, such as a girl walking with a teddy bear at a carnival or anthropomorphic sausages walking a dog. More seriously, the tag includes a Windows 8 Maps feature request for walking distances, where a user misses the 'Add a Destination' option from Windows 7. There is also a news thread about optical illusion pavement in Alicante causing tourists to stumble, and a thread about a bizarre video titled 'Take a walk on the really weird side.' The tag reflects both casual and functional walking-related content.
In windows 7 I use maps all the time. When I take a walk I figure how far I'll walk and how many turns I'll take and can figure it out to the tenth of a mile by using "add a destination" but I don't see that in Windows 8
Boozed-up British tourists have to watch where they walk in Alicante after a new patterned pavement has been laid causing nausea and confusion.
The crazy design in the Spanish holiday resort causes the eye to think that the pavement is not flat but stepped.
