i have vista on my pc and want to upgrade to windows 7. ebay has listings for keys and download links claiming the keys to be authentic, genuine, pass wga etc.... however other listings contain the actual software with coa (certificate of authenticity) So... do i actually need to own the coa?

You can read all of their propaganda here. I'm sure you'll find it either hilarious or as aggravating as I did. In response to this stupidity I wrote them an email. Would you like to read it?... Of course you bloody would :D I just get so annoyed when people pull stunts like this.

After a few days of use now, I have the message, "This copy of Windows is not genuine" at the bottom. I haven't even use the update windows option yet. Well it failed. Just curious though.
