About this tag
WGA, or Windows Genuine Advantage, is Microsoft's validation system to check if a copy of Windows is genuine. Discussions on WindowsForum.com cover topics such as whether a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) is needed when buying Windows 7 software, issues with WGA validation after installing Windows 7 Home Premium, and the removal of WGA checks for Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 downloads. Users also report receiving messages like 'This copy of Windows is not genuine' and share experiences with validation prompts. The tag reflects user concerns about activation, validation failures, and understanding what constitutes a genuine Windows installation.
