windows index

About this tag
The Windows Experience Index is a built-in tool in Windows Vista and Windows 7 that measures the performance capabilities of a computer's hardware components, including processor, memory, graphics, and disk. Discussions on WindowsForum.com cover issues such as the assessment failing to complete on certain builds, like Windows 7 build 7048, where errors occur during Direct3D 10 ALU and Windows Media encoding tests. Users also seek advice on improving low video experience scores, such as a 2.8 rating on an Nvidia GeForce 6600, and ask for recommendations on better graphics cards for Vista. The tag 'windows index' refers to this performance rating system and related troubleshooting.
