word deletion

Greetings! I've got an issue I'm baffled by - I can type words fine, but when I use the cursor to go back to previous words I've already typed, the words I've just typed in front of it are being deleted one-by-one automatically, all the way back to where the cursor is. I've turned off Overtype...
