wpl files

About this tag
WPL files are playlist files used by Windows Media Player to organize and play media. In Windows 10 and 11, users may encounter issues when trying to set Windows Media Player as the default player for music playback, as Cortana and other system features often default to Groove Music or the modern Media Player app. Associating WPL files with Windows Media Player is a common troubleshooting step, but it may not fully redirect voice commands or default playback behavior. Discussions on WindowsForum.com cover these configuration challenges, including registry tweaks and settings adjustments to enforce Windows Media Player as the primary handler for WPL playlists.
