About this tag
The Windows Performance Recorder (WPR) is a tool used to diagnose system performance issues on Windows, such as slow boot times or crashes. In forum discussions, users seek help with WPR to create boot traces that capture detailed performance data, which can then be analyzed to identify the root cause of problems like extended boot loops or black screen errors. Common challenges include understanding how to start a WPR session and ensure trace data is saved even when the system becomes unresponsive. The tag covers practical troubleshooting scenarios where WPR is employed to pinpoint software or driver issues affecting system stability and startup performance.
