wps files

About this tag
WPS files are documents created by Microsoft Works, a productivity suite that was discontinued by Microsoft. Users on WindowsForum.com discuss issues when saving and opening WPS files, particularly when Windows or other applications like Word add an extra .doc extension to the filename. This can cause the file to become unopenable in Works or display garbled content in Word. Renaming the file to remove the extra extension often restores proper functionality. The tag covers troubleshooting steps for handling WPS files, including file extension problems and compatibility between Works and other software.
