About this tag
The ztos tag on WindowsForum.com follows discussion of ztOS, a fan-made Linux phone operating system that recreates the look and motion of Windows Phone 8.1 through its ztMETRO shell. Coverage centers on its technical foundation in Arch Linux ARM and mainline Linux, its own apps, updater and SDK for Python and Qt development, and its narrow hardware support for a single Samsung Galaxy S9 model. Because the project is released as an alpha, tagged content frames it as experimental software for tinkerers rather than a practical daily driver or any kind of revival of Microsoft's discontinued mobile platform.
