Hey guys, I get the 0xc00000e9 error about 1/4 of the way through the beginning when it says windows loading files. This is before the installation. It is an unexpected I/O error. I was trying to install Windows 7 RC1 64bit.The dvd is fine as i tried installing it on my sister's laptop, and it installed fine.
My computer specs:

Dell E520
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 @ 1.8ghz
2gb Ram
Grphics card: Nvidia Geforce 7300LE
Hope this helps.

Hello,

Welcome to the windows7forums,

Are you trying to install an upgrade or a "clean" install? Is this an older DVD rom drive that your using?

You might want to take a look at the jumpers on the DVD rom and change to Master if it's set as Slave or Slave if it's set the Master.

Hey thanks for the reply, I am tryin to do a clean install, but i dont even get to that screen(stuck at windows loading screen) then i get the error. This is a new dvd drive, i bought it about a month ago, it works perfectly fine as i instlled, xp, vista and stuff from it. It didnt come with the system, the one the came with the system failed as i accidently flashed it. Anyway it is a SATA dvd drive so there arnt any Slave and master stuff.
Thanks, nips

This is occurring quite frequently on the 64-bit edition.

The only thing I can think of is to try to install from a flash drive.

Other than that please look aver the threads at the bottom of this page.
