Windows 7 5.1 only 2 speakers work

i don't have 5.1 option in sounds speaker configure only stereo and only 2 speakers work info controller intel 82801 aa ac`97 audio controller draiver version 6.0.6001.18000 microsoft 7/29/2008 pls helpp my!
I've tried everything from updating the drivers to uninstalling Realtek, which didn't work...

Did you follow the instructions for 6-channel audio on page 64 of your manual? Have you installed the HD drivers from the motherboard utility disk?

Interestingly, I recently set up a different Gigabyte board that refused to play the rear speakers with a 4.1 system (no center). In order to get the rear channels to work, I had to configure the speakers in Control Panel as a 7.1 setup, then simply disabled the unused channels.
 
Are there any type of adjustments for balance you can make if you have a Control Panel?
