Hello,

I have a windows 7 that I'm connecting to with Remote Desktop. Desktop is nice and Aero is working fine !

When activating multimon feature in RD, Aero is not working !

Is there any way or hack to force aero to work anyhow ?

Thanks.

Solution
To force Aero to work when using Remote Desktop with multiple monitors on a Windows 7 system, you can try the following steps: 1. Ensure Proper Graphics Settings: - Make sure that your system meets the requirements for Aero to work properly. Ensure that you have a compatible graphics card and updated drivers. 2. Adjust Remote Desktop Settings: - Open Remote Desktop Connection on the client machine. - Click on "Show Options" to expand the settings. - Navigate to the "Display" tab and check the "Use all my monitors for the remote session" option. - Save the settings and connect to the remote Windows 7 machine. 3. Modify Group Policy: - On the Windows 7 machine, press Windows Key + R, type gpedit.msc, and hit...

Modify Group Policy: - On the Windows 7 machine, press Windows Key + R, type gpedit.msc, and hit Enter. - Navigate to Local Computer Policy -> Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Remote Desktop Services -> Remote Desktop Session Host -> Remote Session Environment. - Double-click on "Use hardware graphics adapters for all Remote Desktop Services sessions" and select Enabled. - Click Apply and then OK to save the changes. - Restart the Windows 7 machine for the changes to take effect. 4. Check Aero Compatibility: - Ensure that Aero is supported and enabled on the Windows 7 machine. You can verify this by right-clicking on the desktop, selecting Personalize, and then checking the theme settings. 5. Update Graphics Drivers: - Make sure that the graphics drivers on both the client and remote machines are up to date. Updated drivers can often resolve compatibility issues with Aero. 6. Restart and Reconnect: - After making these changes, restart both the client and remote machines. Reconnect using Remote Desktop and check if Aero is now working on the multi-monitor setup. By following these steps, you can potentially force Aero to work even when using the multimon feature in Remote Desktop on Windows 7. If you encounter any difficulties or Aero still doesn't function as expected, let me know so we can explore further options.
