Windows 7 Alps touchpad issues

I can no longer enable my alps pointing device (touch pad) on my Satellite laptop. The Fn butting does not adjust my screen brightness, or reactivate my mousepad. it does however work for the calc etc. Any suggestions?

Did this just happen for no reason or was it after an update/upgrade. In some instances, certain keys are controlled either through a bios setup utility or some driver software installed for that purpose. For instance, on some computers, the F keys can be set to normally be F keys or the alternate.

What model of computer do you have?
