I'm more than happywith VLC - it serves its purpose well for me. What are you looking for which VLC does not provide?

As Pat rightly say's VLC is about the best your going to get for open source software. Microsoft have even endorsed a copy for Windows 10:
Download official VLC media player for Windows - VideoLAN

Nothing else really carries as many codecs but of course it's always fun to try other apps..

Thanks to all all for your opinions, but actually I am looking for a player by which I can easily play all kinds of sound files, don,t want to use multiple players for this task.

Now that's a different question - but given the range of video and audio codecs supported by VLC I would still come back with my original response - What are you lookig for which VLC does not provide?
