Microsoft has unveiled the release of Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22621.2338 and Build 22631.2338 (KB5030305) in the Beta Channel. This update introduces new features to enhance user experience in Windows 11, with varying functionalities across the two builds.
Key Highlights:
- Build Differentiation: Build 22631.2338 features new functionalities enabled by default, while Build 22621.2338 presents these features turned off by default. Insiders previously on Build 22624 will be automatically transitioned to Build 22631 via an enablement package to streamline this update process.
- New Focus Session Widget: A new Focus Session widget is rolling out as part of the Clock app update, allowing users to conveniently start and stop focus sessions on their devices. This feature is gradually deploying to Windows Insiders in the Beta Channel to gather feedback before full deployment.
- Taskbar & System Tray Enhancements: Microsoft Teams – Free is now pinned to the taskbar by default in place of Chat, offering an enhanced communication experience. Insiders can conveniently chat, call, and meet their contacts with minimal navigation. Phone Link integration will soon be integrated into Microsoft Teams (free).
- Build Fixes (22631.2338): Various issues have been addressed, including untranslated text areas across the system, unexpected taskbar labels, Task Manager launch failures, and Flash inconsistencies in File Explorer for Dark mode users.
- Improvements for Both Builds: A new option under Settings allows users to disable Phone Link altogether, offering enhanced control over mobile device communication. Notably, the update complies with the GB18030-2022 requirements and addresses multiple application compatibility and performance issues.
