Windows Insider Program Team unveils Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25905, available in the Canary Channel. Here are the key highlights of this latest update:



New Features:

- Integration of new features from the Dev Channel, including Dev Drive, Backup and Restore improvements, Dynamic Lighting, and the Windows App SDK version of File Explorer and Gallery.

- Introduction of Rust in the Windows Kernel for enhanced reliability and security.

- Removal of support for Arm32 UWP applications from Windows on Arm, affecting installed Arm32 applications. Users are advised to reinstall compatible versions post-upgrade.

- New PostAuthenticationAction support for terminating individual processes in Windows LAPS.

- SMB signing now required by default for all connections in Pro and Education editions, enhancing security protocols.

- Advanced Windows Update recovery feature in Settings under Recovery for maintaining device security and up-to-date functionality.



Changes and Improvements:

- Adjustment to prerequisites for enabling device encryption in clean Windows 11 installs.

- Implementation of color font format COLRv1 for richer, 3D-like emoji display, enhancing visual appeal and expression in communications.

Known Issues:

- Some ASUS devices or PCs with ASUS motherboards may be excluded from this build due to update issues.

- Ethernet-connected devices may experience network connectivity loss post-update, requiring cable re-plugging for resolution.
