I am running windows 7 32 bit on my macBook in bootcamp. when I boot into the windows partition after a few minutes the screen's backlight will turn off and I can't get it to come back on with out restarting the computer. As far as I can tell the back light turning off has nothing to do with what I am doing at the time because I am always do ing something diffrent when it happens. It also never happens at the same time, as in it isn't that after 3 min the screen will shut off, sometimes it will work for 30 min others 2. The problem dosen't happen when I am in safe mode so I asume that it is program that is making it do that. I usaly have steam running but it has done it without that running aswell. Has anyone experienced a simmilar problem or have any idea what might be done to fix it?

I have tried setting diffrent resolutions (I was just trying things) and I set the backlight to never turn off just incase there might be a problem with the timer on that. Other than that I have not done much other than search for an answer online.

It seems like you are encountering an issue with the screen backlight on your Windows 7 installation running in Boot Camp on your MacBook. The fact that the problem doesn't occur in Safe Mode suggests that it might be related to a third-party program or driver conflicting with the display settings. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue: 1. Update Drivers: - Make sure all your drivers, especially the graphics driver, are up to date. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause display issues. - Visit the official support website for your MacBook model and download the latest drivers for Windows 7. 2. Check Power Settings: - Verify the power settings in Windows to ensure that a power-saving...

Check Power Settings: - Verify the power settings in Windows to ensure that a power-saving feature is not causing the screen to turn off unexpectedly. - You mentioned setting the backlight to never turn off, but also check other power settings that may affect the display. 3. Disable Startup Programs: - Try disabling unnecessary startup programs that may be running in the background and causing conflicts. You can use Task Manager to manage startup programs. 4. Run System File Checker (SFC): - Use the System File Checker tool to scan and repair corrupted system files that might be causing the issue. - Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command: sfc /scannow. 5. Check Event Viewer: - Check the Event Viewer in Windows for any error logs related to the display turning off. This may provide more information about what is causing the problem. 6. Update Software: - Ensure that all your software, especially any third-party applications like Steam, are up to date. Sometimes, outdated software can cause compatibility issues. 7. Check for Malware: - Run a full system scan using your installed antivirus software to check for any malware or malicious programs that might be causing the issue. 8. Reinstall Software: - If the issue started after installing a particular program, try uninstalling and reinstalling that program to see if it resolves the problem. If after trying these steps the issue persists, it might be helpful to identify any recent changes or installations that coincided with the problem starting. This information can provide further clues as to the root cause of the issue. Do these steps and let me know if the issue gets resolved or if you need further assistance!
