Windows 7 been getting IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL for about 3 months now...

I've been getting an irritating IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL BSoD for a long time now... I've tried almost everything short of formatting and reinstalling everything (it started crashing a few days after I've put the thing together...)

specs:

Core i7 2600K
Gigabyte Z77X-D3H
2x8gb value RAM
Running on onboard GPU (my Radeon 6950 HD keeps crashing... probably defective), which is a Intel HD Graphics 3000 (GT2+)

Link Removed

If anybody could help, it would be really appreciated...

The crashes/BSoDs are quite random, but one thing I noticed is that it happens more frequently when I'm viewing YouTube videos, or have 'em loading.
And from what I recall, it never crashed while playing.

Solution
Yes I was having problems with BSOD. I uninstalled Firefox and it's Flash plugin amd haven't had problems in about 4 weeks. I also uninstalled Avast and switched to MSE.

Only 102 updates since SP1 - most systems have 130 to 140. Please visit Windows Update and get all available updates

Drive D:
Size 465,75 GB (500.096.991.232 bytes)
Free Space 5,79 GB (6.215.413.760 bytes)
Drives need 15% free space for Windows to operate in - so I'd suggest that you free up 65 gB of space on this drive (for a total of 70+ gB free)

I suspect video issues (from the WER Section of MSINFO32) - more on that later
BSOD's involve DirectX and memory corruption

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions).
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): [DEL] Link Removed [/DEL] Link broken as of 21 Jul 2012
New link (15 Aug 2012): Link Removed (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link: Disc-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Link Removed - Invalid URL

Please un-install Gigabyte EasySaver and EasyTune6 - they cause BSOD's in some Win7 systems.

USB XBox controller is known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems. Un-install the software and remove the device from the system. Don't reinstall until the manufacturer releases new drivers (these date from 2009).

Install a new version of Avira - yours dates from 2011

If this doesn't fix things, try these free diagnostics (particularly those for the video): Link Removed

Only 102 updates since SP1 - most systems have 130 to 140. Please visit Windows Update and get all available updates
I usually keep it updated. I ran it again and it shows that there isn't any updates to be made. Only the language-specific optional ones (which I don't really need).

Drive D:
Size 465,75 GB (500.096.991.232 bytes)
Free Space 5,79 GB (6.215.413.760 bytes)
Drives need 15% free space for Windows to operate in - so I'd suggest that you free up 65 gB of space on this drive (for a total of 70+ gB free)
Done.

I suspect video issues (from the WER Section of MSINFO32) - more on that later
BSOD's involve DirectX and memory corruption
Alright. I hope the changes fix it before it gets to that...

Done as well.

Please un-install Gigabyte EasySaver and EasyTune6 - they cause BSOD's in some Win7 systems.
I removed EasyTune6 (I never installed EasySaver nor it shows up on the uninstallation control panel), but those were recently installed (last week) and the problem has been happening way prior to their installation.

USB XBox controller is known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems. Un-install the software and remove the device from the system. Don't reinstall until the manufacturer releases new drivers (these date from 2009).
I removed it, but as with the EasyTune6 above, those were recently installed (last week) and the problem has been happening way prior to their installation.

Install a new version of Avira - yours dates from 2011
Done as well, but it's weird, since I did a fresh installation of Win7 (and downloaded the newest version of avira from their website) when I got a new MoBo and CPU earlier this year (right before the BSoDs started)

If this doesn't fix things, try these free diagnostics (particularly those for the video): Link Removed
OK, will do that. :)

Well... let's see how things goes. Hopefully, it'll stop with the random crashes.
And again, thanks SO much for your time and patience, sir. :)

Driver dates aren't the best way of determining problems - but often they're the only way that we have. That's why we use them.

If this was specifically related to a certain incident that happened on your computer - then it'd be easy to fix. Unfortunately, a computer is a dynamic collection of hardware and software (it changes frequently). While it's less likely that the newer installations are a part of the problem - it's also possible that the older problems are either also related to the newer stuff - or that the newer stuff is also causing some of the problems that you're experiencing now.

In short, here's what we do:
- we look for 3rd party (non-Microsoft) problems (regardless of when they occurred)
- if we take care of all those and you still have BSOD's, then we move on to hardware diagnostics

The 3rd party stuff is part guesswork, part looking for older drivers (which may/may not be bad), part looking for stuff that we've seen cause problems elsewhere, and part reading reports for hints on what might be wrong.

So, what we do next is we wait....
If you don't get another BSOD in a while (in most cases it's a week or two) then we can figure it's possibly solved.
If you don't get another BSOD in a longer while (in most cases it's up to a month) then we can figure that it's probably solved.
But this also depends on how often you were getting the BSOD's originally.

Well, from the time I posted that reply to now, it just crashed twice. :/
I guess it didn't solve it then... I'll check that additional diagnosis link.

The timing between BSODs is really unreliable... sometimes it crashes twice in 10min, sometimes it goes almost a week without ever crashing.

edit.: and just got another BSoD right now... /sigh

One thing I remembered just now... Could it be related to Adobe Flash somehow? 'Cause flash keeps crashing on Firefox while I'm browsing and if I remember correctly, the BSoDs only happen while Firefox is open (but that, I'm not really sure)

Yes I was having problems with BSOD. I uninstalled Firefox and it's Flash plugin amd haven't had problems in about 4 weeks. I also uninstalled Avast and switched to MSE.

Solution
Please zip up and upload the memory dumps so we can have a look at them. They're located in C:\Windows\Minidump

Just a quick update...
I've installed Chrome and started using it... For a while, I thought it wouldn't crash, but it did a few minutes ago, so, it's not Firefox's fault (but it can still be the damned flash plugin... who knows... :frown:)

Please un-install Gigabyte On/Off (Applecharger.sys) as recently we've seen some BSOD's due to it. Feel free to reinstall it (if needed) after the BSOD's have stopped.

If the BSOD's keep coming after you've removed this stuff, then please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Link Removed

after about 14 days without a single BSoD while running Driver Verifier, I got the following:Link Removed

I lost power yesterday due to Hurricane Sandy. Don't have any idea when it will be restored. I will post back as soon as power is restored. Meanwhile, I only have my phone to post with.

If anybody could help, it would be really appreciated...
