Windows 7 Bitlocker key issues

Hey guys,

I have a problem

Has anyone played with bitlocker?

I have encrypted my drives and made a usb key. This works great but thought I need to duplicate the key - just in case...
When I go into "manage bitlocker" I put in another USB stick and click "duplicate the startup key" it asks me which drive and I point to my other usb stick. It writes the key file OK but it wont accept it when I reboot. I tried an SD card which I have the same issue.

Any ideas?
