Windows 7 BLUE SCREEN

KDK

New Member
Hello, I keep receiving blue screen of deaths on my laptop and usually I ignore them and just reboot my laptop. However I watched a video on YouTube today and it told me to post here and maybe someone would take a look at the file for me and be able to help me with the problem. Thanks for your time.

Sorry for the delay in responding. There just aren't that many people who do BSOD analysis, so at times we get a bit overwhelmed!

Please provide this information so we can provide a complete analysis: http://windows7forums.com/blue-screen-death-bsod/38837-how-ask-help-bsod-problem.html

Memory dump blames your Touchpad drivers. Please:
- download a fresh copy from the Lenovo website
- un-install the current drivers
- install the freshly downloaded drivers
- monitor for further BSOD's

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions). I strongly suspect that this hold true for Win8 systems also.
Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): [DEL] DuplexSecure - FAQ [/DEL] Link broken as of 21 Jul 2012
New link (15 Aug 2012): DuplexSecure - Downloads (pick the appropriate version for your system and select "Un-install" when you run it).
Alternate link: Disc-Tools.com
Manual procedure here: Registry and SPTD problems | DAEMON Pro Help

Please update your remote control software - the hamachi.sys driver dates from 2009.

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

I followed all steps with no luck. I rebooted my whole system and now get them again. Could you look at this one and see why I still get them? Thanks.

This one seems to blame your video card. I'd suggest running the video tests from here: Additional Hardware Diagnostics

I'd also run Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

I have completely removed hamachi as it appears this seems to give me problems. I done both the other things you said. Driver verifier put my computer into blue screen (minidump attached) I then tried to update my video driver by using the Lenovo support website, But it told me I had a newer version then the version it had for download. The driver verifier said to upload the minidump. But I am not sure if that meant in here or on some other website? I have uploaded it anyways. Thank you for your time.

Driver Verifier blames vsdatant.sys - a component of the Zone Alarm firewall.
Please uninstall Zone Alarm and make sure that the Windows Firewall is turned on while testing.

I received another BSOD today. I follow everything you tell me to do but for some reason it does not work. I am wondering if it is my hard drive would it show in the minidumps?

BCCode: 50
BCP1: FFFFF8A00FF644D0
BCP2: 0000000000000001
BCP3: FFFFF88004B3C68E
BCP4: 0000000000000000
OS Version: 6_1_7601
Service Pack: 1_0
Product: 768_1

this is a message I received when restarting my computer.

It might be your hard drive, but:
Just FYI - here's how I do BSOD analysis':
- first I rule out 3rd party drivers (to include the Driver Verifier test - if applicable)
- then I rule out hardware (start with these free diagnostics: Hardware Diagnostics )
- then I look at Windows problems (the least likely as long as Windows Updates are up to date).

We're still at the stage of ruling out 3rd party drivers. Please zip up and upload the latest memory dumps (they're located in C:\Windows\Minidump )

Back to video again.

Please un-install Zone Alarm - it is still present in the memory dumps. If you have uninstalled it, please post back for additional suggestions on how to remove it.

Have you run the video stress tests that I suggested? Did you get any errors? Please try running all of the diagnostics here: Hardware Diagnostics (I'm starting to suspect a hardware problem).

Try removing (un-installing) your video drivers - then install those from the Lenovo website.

Beyond that, make sure that the laptop's fan is working, and that you've blown out the vents with canned air (DON'T use an air compressor or a vacuum as they can damage components). Make sure that the system is used on a hard surface - or (preferably) that you're using a laptop cooling pad to force cool air into the laptop.
