Windows 7 Bluetooth adapter

I have a Trendnet TBW-105UB USB BT adapter that seems to be installing fine through the auto install process, yet when I try to open the bluetooth devices the window stays blank. The green progress bar crawls along to about 99% done then just stops there. Device mgr shows the device having no issues, but figured I would download the latest driver from Broadcomm and try it out since it's for Win 7. There are a couple of things going on here; when I uninstall the device through device mgr, I can't get the auto hardware install to stop even though I turned it off using the advanced properties. So each time I plug in the adapter it goes into the auto detect process and does the driver install. The other issue is the Broadcomm software seems to crash every time during the install. Has anybody run into probs similar to this and been able to resolve? Thanks in advance.

Hi Bolts,
have you tried running the software in compatibility mode?
