Windows 7 brothers hl 2040 printer wont work

windows 7 does not recognise my brother hl 2040 printer. have installed it with the disc but still it wont recognise. i now have the rc downloaded from technet in may and since i clean installed that one my brother printer does not work. anyone with similar problems and have the answer please reply.

I had the same problem. You have to go onto HL 2040 website and download their files and install it. When you print, choose the printer which says HL2040 series (Which was different from the name I had before 'HL 2040').
