Hi,

So it all started with explorer.exe crashing. It kept crashing everytime I tried to hit the start button. Then boom BSOD. Then on startup the chkdsk ran and fixed a whole bunch of things. After that explorer.exe kept crashing and BSOD ensued about 2-3 times. Then it stopped. Chkdsk ran perfectly. Now my laptop keeps freezing. It's an Acer Aspire S3 Ultrabook: (Spec Showdown: Acer Aspire S3-951 Ultrabook vs. 13.3-inch MacBook Air | PCWorld)

So I googled around constantly inbetween the freezes  and tried to get windows recovery to work through cmd. The thing is it wouldn't. So I googled a fix for that and found a forum post that lead me to windows installer module... Trying to run that, it won't it gives an Error 1016. Which says I/O operation iniated by the registry failed unrecoverbly.

I also used shellext and disabled all the non-microsoft operations.

I can't find a fix for anything. It's killing me softly. I have had this laptop for 3 weeks and had Mcafee installed from the beginning. Any help would be dearly appreciated.
