Hi, sorry for the late reply. Firstly thanks for the advice, few quick questions though. So is there a specific set of instructions within the manual to show how to update the bios or can i just google the mobo and find out? Secondly what can go wrong during the update, I hear it is quite problematic during installation or is it pretty safe. Finally out of curiosity, what do you use to detect what is wrong with the pc from the dmp files as I am interested in learning to do it myself rather than rely on others... anyway thanks for the reply

Hi,
whilst it's true that if a bios update goes wrong it can be bad and may lead to a dead motherboard...BUT.... The days of risky bios updates are pretty much disappeared and as long as you don't turn off the machine or have a power cut mid bios flash then your pretty much golden. These updates are quite critical at times and many a bsod issue has been sorted by a simple bios update. This video shows how straight forward it is to flash your board:

Microsoft has a site on how to debug and what to use:

Great, done the bois update and worked like a charm.. surprisingly easy come to think of it. The drivers/software you advised me to update have been updated, so we shall just have to wait and see :p

Anyway thanks for the debugging information too :D
