Last post I Made one of our members looked through my minidumps and told me that I had a problem with my graphics driver and realtek PCI card reader as well as a outdated Logitech driver. To my knowledge I've updated all of the above drivers and then today while on battery power I got another Driver_Power_State_Failure while surfing the internet.

When I reinstalled the driver I first uninstalled the driver, then restarted the computer, then ran driver sweeper, got rid of old driver files, and then reinstalled fresh so I believe I did that correct. I forgot to mention that when i ran driver sweeper I was in safe mode.

For the Pci card reader I just uninstalled the old driver, restarted and then reinstalled the new updated version. Is that correct?

I did the same for the Logitech Driver.

Am I still getting bluescreens from the Nvidia driver or is it a different problem? Please help me out again:) Much appreciated.

    STOP 0x0000009F: DRIVER_POWER_STATE_FAILURE
    Usual causes:
    Device driver

Your latest dump file lists pci.sys as the probable cause. This is a Windows System file and for it to be the cause of your crash is highly unlikely.
Old and incompatible drivers can and do cause issues with Windows 7, often giving false error codes. Random stop codes can often indicate hardware issues.

Is it a Razer mouse you have? Can you check for any updates to the driver for that please.

Once all your drivers are up to date, if you get another bluescreen, especially blaming a driver, then you'll need to run Driver Verifier to force the bad guy out. But lets see what happens.

Drivers that pre-date Windows 7. Update:

GEARAspiWDM.sys Mon May 18 13:17:04 2009 Gear Software CD-ROM Class Filter Driver v4.019.1 (Oct 2011). Also loads with iTunes

    Drivers with Updates:

    nusb3hub.sys Thu Sep 30 05:00:03 2010
    nusb3xhc.sys Thu Sep 30 05:00:03 2010
Go to your Motherboard Mfr. Support website (or NEC/Renesas) and update your USB 3.0 drivers. A June 2011 set are available Here.

    L1C62x64.sys Mon Sep 27 07:36:23 2010 Atheros NIC driver

    nvlddmkm.sys Sun Jun 26 23:11:48 2011 nVidia Graphics Drivers.

    • Download and install DriverSweeper.
    • Uninstall your current Graphics setup through Programs and Features
    • Boot to (preferably) Safe Mode and run Driver Sweeper to clean up the remnants of your current Graphics set up.
    • Reboot to Normal Mode.
    • Install your new Graphics set up.

Let us know how it goes. If you get further problems with blue screens, attach your new dump files and details and we'll move on from there.

    HTH.

Thanks for that. At the mo I can't get a date on its driver, maybe it'll show up if you bsod again. Which, obviously, neither of us really want.

last night I updated My razer Naga driver and that is it because I had just reinstalled the Nvidia driver off of dells website using there provided drivers which they said should work. When I did that i uninstalled the driver then restarted in safe mode and ran driver sweeper. I ran driver sweeper twice to make sure all the files for Nvidia were gone. I then fresh installed the Nvidia Driver froms dells website.

I was going to reinstall the 3.0 USB driver, but I really couldnt find a reputable source to download them from so I didn't.

Also do I need to run driver sweeper when fresh installing 3.0 usb driver?

So far no more blue screen, but I haven't been on battery power for more then 30 minutes.

Any of the links I've provided are safe.

    No, that's just for graphics.

Talking graphics, I'd say you are better off getting them from nVidia/AMD, the manufacturer. As long as they are WHQL rated you'll be fine.

Ok I've grabbed the June 2011 3.0 Usb Drivers and i'll reinstall those later. If I do get another bluescreen anytime soon I've also grabbed the Updated Drivers from Nvidia's website that are WHQL rated and i'll install those if it comes to that.

One more question. In my device manager I have 3.0 Usb host controller and 3.0 usb root hub. Which usb do I want to upgrade?
