Hello all, and thanks for your time....99% of my bluescreens occur while watching Youtube or any other video. I've tried disabling hardware acceleration in flash, but that doesn't seem to work. The other 1% seems to happen randomly while I'm away from the computer(All together, I get about 3-4 a week). I never put it to sleep; I have the display turn off after 15 minutes of idle. I used the diagnostic tool uploaded by Capt. Jack Sparrow(awesome program btw :D), and will provide all the info I can here. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks again!

P.S. On 8/27 of this year, I sent back a stick of memory to Cyberpower and had it replaced; (I ran Memtest and found that one of the sticks was bad). Everything seemed fine for about 2-3 weeks, and then it started again. With this said, any bsods on 8/27 or prior will probably point to memory; I'm only concerned about those that happened afterwards. Hope that makes sense :D

    Hey there, welcome.

    1) Uninstall AVG in safe mode using the tool found here:

AV Uninstallers - Windows 7 Forums

Reboot and install MSE to replace it.

    2) Update the Realtek HD Audio driver:

    RTKVHD64 RTKVHD64.sys Tue Aug 25 07:28:04 2009

    RtkHDAudio

    3) Update Realtek lan driver:

    Rt64win7 Rt64win7.sys Thu Jul 30 07:58:43 2009

    RTL8111

    4) Daemon Tools with its sptd.sys is notorious. Uninstall Daemon Tools normally then use the installer/uninstaller found here to remove sptd.sys (do not update instead while using):

    DuplexSecure - Downloads

Reboot and install PowerISO to replace it. Disc emulation part of the software is free forever:

PowerISO - Create, Edit, Compress, Encrypt, Split, Mount, Extract ISO file, ISO/BIN converter, Virtual Drive

    5) Good luck and enjoy.

Thank you for your quick reply! :D
Only 1 question though.... when it comes to...
    3) Update Realtek lan driver:

    Rt64win7 Rt64win7.sys Thu Jul 30 07:58:43 2009

I downloaded: Win7 and WinServer 2008 R2 Driver from the site; now, I have a zip folder of the 32 and 64 versions( I attached what I have to this message) but I'm not sure what to do with them and how to update this one. Any advice?

    You're welcome.

Extract the driver to a folder. Then use the device manager to install. Right click it. Update driver software. Browse my computer. Let me pick. Have disk. Browse.

Now navigate to the extracted folder Win7\64 and double click on the .inf file. Hit ok then next and it will install.

Thanks again! I really appreciate it. So far, all has worked except the Realtek HD audio driver; I went to the link, downloaded
Vista, Windows7 Driver (32/64bits) Driver only (ZIP file)

and ran the setup.exe that it came with. Current driver was uninstalled. Rebooted. Driver appreared to install; rebooted again. No sound. So, I rolled back the last driver, and everything seems to be ok for now. Overall, I haven't had a bluescreen yet, but I'll report back if I do. If you ever come to NJ, I owe you a beer or 2!

Well...looks like I spoke too soon. Came home to a blank screen; I had to restart the computer, and received another, "windows has recovered blah blah blah" message  any thoughts? I'll have to figure out how to read this stuff so I don't have to keep bugging people.

Steps 1, 2 are not completed and from step 4, sptd.sys has not been removed.

    You're welcome.

You didn't follow Torrent's troubleshooting correctly:

    1. Remove AVG completely http://www.avg.com/ww-en/download-tools

    2. sptd.sys is still there and is quite outdated - remove it for now:

    DuplexSecure - FAQ

    http://www.duplexsecure.com/download/SPTDinst-v174-x64.exe

To remove SPTD, simply download SPTD setup file "SPTDinst-v174-x64.exe" for Windows XP/2003/Vista (64-bit) [700,984 bytes] and execute it.

In dialog that appears press "Uninstall" button and then SPTD will remove itself from your Windows installation.

(If you want to install it again then execute same setup and press "Install")

    3. You may want to update your realtek audio as well, it's not bugging but yet a good idea.

Ok, AVG is gone, as well as sptd.sys(this time I did it right, sorry :-( I'm new at some of this stuff. Only concern is the Realtek HD audio driver; should I download.... Vista, Windows7 Driver(64bits) Driver only (Executable file) from the site? My apologies again. My idiotic self didn't reboot, and I have since slapped myself.

Download "Vista, Windows7 Driver(64bits) Driver only (Executable file)" and run it. Reboot and run it again.

The first time will uninstall it.

The second will install new version.

Everything has been well up until a couple minutes ago...

I updated the Realtek sound and Lan drivers
    uninstalled daemon and sptd.sys
AVG is gone(as far as I know; I've searched all over my pc and haven't found a single trace of it)

my only guess is that I have another bad stick of memory, and Memtest may have not picked up on it.
    Thanks again for your assistance.

Very possible. It is showing an error with the Realtek lan driver, but it is brand new and well. I've never seen another crash dump from this, and for sure 100%, the driver itself is not the issue.

Uninstall any funky network software which you might have or firewall-type utilities. I don't see any other drivers of concern, so it very well is probably a fault in the memory itself:

Thanks for your patience, TorrentG :) possibly the home network between my wife and I? I was just coming back to update my post to say that when this last one happened, I was transferring files to her computer via Homegroup....maybe there's an issue there? Thanks again!

No, it can't be from any other machine or networking to anything. It's your specific machine only. Very likely it's a memory issue. Could be from 3rd party software but I don't see any drivers like that, so very likely, not.

    You're welcome.

Post new crashes for more insight.

The only network program that I run on a regular basis is Tversity...TVersity - Home
I only use the included Windows firewall and MSE; I also get a lot of errors in event viewer stating, "Microsoft Security Essentials OOBE" stopped due to the following error: 0xC000000D" Maybe a reinstall of the program would help?

I've only had 1 bluescreen since my last minidump posted, and this is the new one from last night around 11 p.m. I guess the next step is to purchase some new memory. I'll be shopping around for
DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666)...any suggestions? I have a Gigabyte GA- P55M-UD2 motherboard; also, could my problem be an outdated bios? If not, I'll just stick with the memory replacement. Thanks again for your time and expertise. Much appreciated.

P.S. just checked task manager...I have Microsoft.net framework NGEN v2.0 and v4.0 both running...is this normal, and could this also be the culprit?

I use TVersity too. Excellent software.

Anyhow, no, the culprit is faulty RAM or incorrect bios settings.

You can post 2 screenshots of CPU-Z. One of the memory tab and one of the spd tab.
First we'll see if settings are correct.

If they are, then you should test the memory overnight 8-10 passes with Memtest86+. When the faults are found, then the memory needs to be replaced.

    Let's see those screenshots though.

Here you go; thank you for another response! :D As a side note, I am running bios version F8 with a date of 2/11/10.

Here are the screens. I have my ram in slots 1 and 3, as seen here. I never knew about this program until now; looks very helpful.

    spd. spd2. memory-1199.

I just helped someone on another site with the exact same memory.

He says he hasn't had any crashes yet so perhaps you'll have the same luck.

Go into the bios and change the tRAS 24 number to 25. Save.
