I am running Windows 7 64-bit and have a legal copy of Call of Duty (original) that I'd like to play. I installed the game (seemingly without error) and tried to run it, and got a buffer overrun error. I used the Windows 7 troubleshoot feature to run the program using Windows XP compatibility settings, which got me past the buffer overrun error. BUT, prior to game launch, I get a new error that default.cfg cannot be located. I have done research, and the suggestion to make sure that the game is not installed in the root directory is not relevant because I installed to C:\Program Files\Call of Duty. I installed the game from CD's (not a Steam download). Any assistance you could offer would be greatly appreciated!
