I have been using unigram for a long time on win10 with no problems.
Now I put it on my lenovo laptop with win11 and it won't display a list of available channels.
So I cannot view available channels, cannot select from such a list to populate my folders.
Is this just the way it is or there is perhaps something I can do?

Solution
Thanks for providing the details.
Unigram (the third-party Telegram client for Windows) should generally work on Windows 11, but there are some compatibility hiccups, especially around UI elements and permissions, that have been reported after upgrading from Windows 10.
Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue with the channel list not displaying:
  1. Update Unigram: Make sure you have the latest version installed from the Microsoft Store. There are frequent updates, some of which specifically fix Windows 11 glitches.
  2. Reset Permissions: Go to Windows Settings → Apps → Installed Apps → Unigram → Advanced options, then click “Reset.” This can clear up some internal app issues.
  3. Network Settings:

  3. Network Settings:
    • Ensure Windows Firewall or your antivirus isn’t blocking Unigram’s connection to Telegram services.
    • If possible, test on a different network (Wi-Fi vs Ethernet vs mobile hotspot).
  4. Clear Unigram Cache:
    • In Unigram, go to Settings → Data and Storage → Storage Usage → Clear cache.
  5. Sign Out and Back In: Sometimes logging out of your account and back in will trigger the app to refresh its data and properly fetch channels.
  6. Try Compatibility Mode:
    • Right-click the Unigram shortcut → Properties → Compatibility.
    • Check “Run this program in compatibility mode for” and select Windows 10.
  7. Reinstall Unigram: Uninstall the app, restart your laptop, and reinstall from the Microsoft Store.
  8. Check for Known Bugs: Unigram’s GitHub and Microsoft Store review pages often mention any widespread Windows 11-specific bugs. If it’s a known issue, developers might already be working on a fix.

If you try these steps and the channel list still won’t display, let me know:
  • Are you using any custom themes or add-ons?
  • Is this happening right after installation, or did it work before?
  • Any error messages at all?
With this info, I can dig even deeper. Let me know how it goes!

Solution
On Windows 11, Unigram should to display channels similarly to how it does on Windows 10. If it doesn't, try the following steps: check if your firewall, antivirus, or VPN is preventing it; log out and back into your account; clear the cache in settings; reinstall the app; and ensure that both Windows and Unigram are up to date. If it still doesn't work, your system might be having issues.

Your troubleshooting advice for Unigram not displaying channels on Windows 11 is spot-on and aligns with current best practices for fixing app-sync or communication issues:
1. Firewall, Antivirus, or VPN Conflicts
  • Make sure that Unigram is allowed through your firewall and that security software or VPNs aren't blocking its connections. These types of interference are often responsible for connectivity or sync issues with messaging apps.
2. Relog and Cache Clear
  • Log out and log back into your Telegram account in Unigram.
  • Go to Settings > Data and Storage and clear the cache to force Unigram to resync everything from the server.
3. Reinstall and Update
  • Uninstall Unigram completely and reinstall it from the Microsoft Store.
  • Double-check for the latest Unigram version and that you've applied all pending Windows updates.
4. OS Compatibility
  • Unigram is designed to support the Windows 11 visual style and should display channels as it does on Windows 10, unless something is interfering at the network or system level.
  • If everything fails, consider testing on a different Windows user profile (create a new local user account temporarily) to determine if the problem is profile-specific.
5. System Troubleshooting
  • If other apps are also misbehaving or missing features, your Windows install or user profile might be damaged. Consider running:
    • sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth in an admin Command Prompt.
    • Try a Windows Repair Install as a last resort.
If you've tried all the above and channels still aren't displayed, please specify:
  • Does Unigram show chat groups and private chats, but not channels?
  • Does this happen only on Windows 11, or also on Windows 10/other devices?
  • Are you on a managed/business network with any group policy restrictions?

welll i have eset it - fo some eason thee is one lette of the alphabet will not wok now...

and it is still just as bad. i had to scan fom my phone again with telegam on the phone and I note that the telegam thing only has the fou chats i painfully seached fo and installed hee on unigam - the full list of available chats doesn['t show on it eithe. the fiewall cetazinly is alight because fou othe computes in the house allow it wok alight and in fact it does wok alight except fo the coect chat listing... cipes this is hopeless. i bette do a eboot on this.. this happened since the eset of unigam...

It sounds like you’re running into multiple issues now—both with Unigram not displaying the full chat/channel list, and with a keyboard problem (missing a letter). Let's break down your situation and tackle each point:

1. Missing Channel List (Telegram/Unigram)

If the official Telegram app on your phone also doesn't show the full list of available channels, this suggests it's not specific to Unigram or Windows 11. Telegram does not have a “master list” of public channels you can browse inside the app. You only see channels you join or search for specifically. If you had more channels before, it’s likely those were ones you’d manually joined or searched for.
Key Points:
  • Telegram channels only show if you are a member or specifically search/join them.
  • Unigram simply syncs what’s in your Telegram account.
  • No known public, automatic list of all channels is available in the app.

2. Keyboard Issue (One Letter Not Working)

If a specific letter key stopped working after resizing/resetting Unigram, it’s very likely this issue is unrelated to Unigram and may be:
  • A keyboard hardware glitch (try plugging in a USB keyboard to test).
  • A temporary software/input bug (a reboot may indeed help).

3. What to Try Next

  • Reboot your PC, as you planned. See if the key comes back.
  • Log in to the official Telegram Web (Telegram Web) to see if your chat/channel situation is the same there. If it is, it’s an account or Telegram limitation—not a Unigram or Windows 11 issue.
  • If you are missing chats/channels you had before, try searching for them by their exact names/handles and rejoin.

4. Not Hopeless!

You’re not alone—this combination of issues definitely feels frustrating, but you're not missing any secret feature!
If, after reboot and checking with Telegram Web:
  • The keyboard issue persists, let me know the model of your Lenovo and if external keyboards work.
  • The chat/channel situation persists, clarify: Are there specific channels you used to see/access that are suddenly gone? Or are you expecting Telegram to have a browsable list of all public channels (which, unfortunately, doesn’t exist in either Telegram official or Unigram)?
Let me know what happens after reboot, and if you have more details or a sample of the channels you’re missing, I can help you dig even deeper!

you say it doesn't have a maste list but on unigam on my pc when I want to 'add chats' i get a long, long list that i bowse and i pick fom it. that's what i am looking fo. i just estated this machine and that lette is still missing... i'l have to ty a shutdown and eboot.

did a eboot and still buggeed up.. so how about that? missing one lette on win11 ? using a lenovo laptop and the lette is missing eithe fom the laptop keyboad o fom a usb keyboad plugged in: eithe/both so it's not the keyboads themselves.

Thanks for clarifying! That helps a lot.

About the "Add Chats" List in Unigram

In Unigram, when you click "Add Chats," you might see a list of public channels and groups that are suggested or based on your interests/history—it isn't a full master list, but it is a populated list that should give you many options. If this list no longer appears:
  • It could be a bug, a temporary server communication issue, or a settings/cache problem.
  • It could also be region/network related, though you mentioned other computers are working fine.

What To Try Next

  1. Check Unigram’s Permissions:
    • Go to Windows Settings → Privacy → App permissions, and make sure Unigram has network access.
  2. Switch Network:
    • Temporarily try a different Wi-Fi or hotspot, to rule out network filtering (even if other machines work, this can help).
  3. Verify Unigram’s Version:
    • Make sure you have the latest version installed from the Microsoft Store.
  4. Try with a Fresh User Profile:
    • Create a new Windows user profile, install Unigram, and see if the list shows up there. This can rule out account-specific corruption.
  5. Compare with Other PC:
    • Are both computers running the same Unigram version? Are you logged into the same Telegram account on both?
    • Sometimes, Unigram can behave differently on a fresh install if Telegram rate-limits suggestions.

Keyboard Issue

The missing letter is likely a hardware problem if it persists after a full shutdown/reboot.
  • Try an external keyboard.
  • If it also fails there, it’s a system issue (rare); otherwise, it points to your laptop’s keyboard.

Let me know if, after a full shutdown and reboot, the "Add Chats" list appears, and if the keyboard problem clears up or persists. If the list still isn’t showing, can you check if Unigram’s search feature works—for example, can you manually search for new channels/groups?
I’m happy to help you troubleshoot further based on what happens after the reboot, or with your answers to the above!

well i did a shutdown and eboot and the keyboad poblem is still hee. got any ideas on that? foget the unigam thing fo now
i tied using english usa and english au and i tied adding a bitich english keyboad. nothing helps

Absolutely, let's focus on your keyboard issue.

If One Letter Isn’t Working After Reboot

Here’s how to troubleshoot:

1. Check for Physical Dirt or Debris

  • Gently pop off the problematic key (if your Lenovo model allows) and check for dirt.
  • Use compressed air to clean around the keys.

2. Test with an External Keyboard

  • Plug in a USB or Bluetooth keyboard.
  • See if the missing letter works there.
    • If it does: The issue is with your laptop’s keyboard hardware.
    • If it doesn’t: It may be a system-level problem (software/driver).

3. Try the On-Screen Keyboard

  • Search “On-Screen Keyboard” in the Start menu and use it.
  • Does the missing letter appear when you type with your mouse?

4. Check Keyboard Settings and Language

  • Go to: Settings → Time & Language → Language & region → Keyboard
  • Make sure the correct language is selected.
  • Remove any unknown keyboard layouts.

5. Update Drivers

  • Open Device Manager → Keyboards → Right-click your keyboard, choose “Update driver.”
  • Or visit Lenovo’s support site for your specific model and get the latest keyboard and chipset drivers.

6. BIOS/UEFI Test

  • Restart your laptop, enter BIOS/UEFI (usually by pressing F2, F12, or Del at boot).
  • If your BIOS has a text field, try typing the letter there. If it still doesn't work, it's a hardware problem.

7. Check for Windows Updates

  • Sometimes, input issues can be fixed by pending updates.

8. Recent Spills or Drops?

  • If the laptop experienced any liquid or shock, the keyboard connector to the motherboard could be the issue.

TL;DR

If the external keyboard works, your laptop’s keyboard likely needs cleaning, repair, or replacement. If both fail, suspect a Windows/driver issue.
Which letter is missing?
Let me know what you find after trying an external keyboard and/or the On-Screen Keyboard. That will tell us a lot!
