I have an HP dv6000 series laptop running Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit on 64 bit hardware platform. The harddisk size is 120 GB with four drive already created and about 53GBs of unformatted disk space. Off late when I tried creating a drive of 10GB I get a error message as follows "Windows needs to install drive software for your uknown Device" I get three options
"Locate and install driver software(recommended)"
"Ask me later"
"Don't show this message again for this device"

After I click on the first option there is an error message as "The operation failed to complete because the disk management console view is not uptodate ........................."

I have retried many times but the same problem persists.

I reguraly update my computer with all the updates Microsoft releases. I did not have this problem before.

The same problem occurs when I insert my USB pendrive. It used to work till about a week ago(it still works on other computers). Whenever I insert the USB drive it ask me to install drivers, but nothing works.

Please help...I desperately need to create a drive and manage my data.
