    • In the Text Services and Input Languages window, click on the "Add..." button.
    • Scroll down and find "Chinese (Simplified, PRC)" or "Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan)".
    • Expand it and select the keyboard layout you prefer (e.g., Microsoft Pinyin, Microsoft Quick, etc.).
    • Click "OK" to add the Chinese keyboard layout.
    []Switch Between Languages:
    • Look for the language bar on your taskbar after adding the Chinese keyboard.
    • Click on it to switch between English and Chinese input.
    [
    ]Configure Language Bar (Optional):
    • Right-click on the language bar to customize its appearance or behavior.
    • You can set it to "Show floating on Desktop" for a more convenient input method.

      Typing Chinese Characters:

      • By default, you can start typing in Pinyin (Romanized Chinese). Windows will suggest characters based on the Pinyin input.
      • Press the spacebar to select the desired character from the list of suggestions.
      • You can also switch to handwriting input if you prefer to write characters.
By following these steps, you should be able to effectively input Chinese characters on Windows 7 without the need for an external Global IME application.
