Hello and welcome to the site!

Run the command like this instead to fix basic errors:

chkdsk /f

If you want to give a longer check for bad sectors, run the command like this:

chkdsk /r

C:\Users\USER>chkdsk /f
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Cannot lock current drive.

Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another
process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be
checked the next time the system restarts? (Y/N) y

This volume will be checked the next time the system restarts.

I saw in another thread there was this problem. I will review that thread and try to get it running and post again here if the problem persists.
