I have a TV Tuner and have used Windows Media Center to record a TV program. Using Live TV to play back the program permits me to turn Closed Captions On or Off. However, recording the program to a DVD still permits showing the Program, but not able to turn On Closed Captions. This is the case for play back with the computer or using a
DVD Player with a TV. The conversion does not seem to record the Closed
Captions. Is there a solution?

Solution
It looks like you are facing an issue where the closed captions that are present when you play back a TV program using Live TV in Windows Media Center do not appear when you record the program to a DVD and play it back on a computer or a DVD player connected to a TV. This problem could be related to how the closed caption data is handled during the recording and conversion process. Here are a few potential solutions to try and resolve this issue: 1. Use a Different Recording Software: - Try using a different recording software other than Windows Media Center to record the TV programs. Some third-party software may handle closed captions better during the recording and conversion process. 2. Check DVD Recording Settings: -...

Use a Different Recording Software: - Try using a different recording software other than Windows Media Center to record the TV programs. Some third-party software may handle closed captions better during the recording and conversion process. 2. Check DVD Recording Settings: - Make sure that the settings for recording the DVD include capturing the closed caption data. Some DVD recording software allows you to specify whether to include closed captions during the recording process. 3. Use a Video Editing Software: - After recording the program to a DVD, you can use video editing software to overlay closed captions onto the video before playing it back. This way, you can manually add the closed captions to the recorded program. 4. Check DVD Player Settings: - If you are playing back the recorded DVD on a DVD player connected to a TV, ensure that the DVD player settings are configured to display closed captions if they are available on the disc. 5. Convert the Video File with Closed Captions: - Instead of recording directly to a DVD, you can try converting the recorded TV program to a video file format (like MP4) using video conversion software that preserves closed captions. 6. Update Software and Drivers: - Ensure that your recording software, DVD player, and related drivers are up to date. Sometimes updates can improve compatibility and functionality related to closed captions. By trying out these solutions, you may be able to address the issue of closed captions not appearing when playing back recorded TV programs on DVDs. If you continue to experience difficulties, feel free to provide more details for further assistance.
