Windows 7 Connecting to a Tube TV

I have a Windows 7 Laptop and its only display output is VGA (computer monitor). I want to hook this up to the Tube TV which has Composite or S-Video inputs. I bought a converter off eBay for a couple bucks which is a wire(not a box) that converts VGA to S-Video and Composite.

When I do this it comes up scrambled. I tried reducing the video setting but nothing works.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Hello and welcome to the Windows7forums,

If your laptop has S-Video outputs, you should have been able to connect just using that connection with no need for a converter.

All converters I have ever seen have a "box", not just a wire.

No it does not have an S-Video output, just VGA. I also don't have a converter box. I got the wire for a couple bucks. I was hoping there was a setting/program on/for Windows 7 that might make it work. I think it has somehting to do with Windows 7's high resolution output.
