Evening everyone,

Was wondering if you could help.

After endless attempts at trying to get my headset recording device to become active and ready for use using my onboard sound I bought this.

1. Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 OEM PCI Soundcard

I also have this headset.

2. Creative Fatal1ty Gaming Headset

Ive installed it, ive used Windows updates to install the drivers because the disk's drivers makes Windows 7 Blue Screen, Im guessing those drivers are not for Windows 7.

The problem i have is this.

Ive also tried recording wizards in Windows 7, nothing.
Tried Windows Live Messenger, nothing.
Tried Skype, nothing.

I have also tried to switch over from Microphone to Line-in and tried the steps above.

But still nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ben.

Check Sound Settings: - Right-click on the speaker icon in the system tray and select "Recording devices." - Ensure that the correct recording device is selected. It should be your Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE. - Check if the headset is set as the default recording device. 3. Microphone Settings: - Ensure the microphone is not muted or disabled in the sound settings. - Adjust the microphone levels to an appropriate volume. 4. Physical Connection: - Ensure the headset is properly connected to the sound card. Check for any loose connections. - Test the headset on another device to confirm that it is working correctly. 5. Testing: - After making changes, test the microphone using Windows Sound Recorder or another recording application. - Verify if the microphone is working by recording your voice or testing it in a communication application like Skype. 6. Compatibility Mode: - If the drivers are still causing issues, try installing them in compatibility mode. Right-click on the driver installer, go to Properties, and set compatibility mode to a previous version of Windows (like Windows XP). By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the issue with your headset recording device. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you have any other questions.
