Solution
It sounds like you are facing an issue with missing DLL files when trying to run Cubase 4 on Windows 7. If those DLL files are missing, Cubase may not work correctly. You mentioned that you believe these DLL files are located in the old Windows folder from a previous installation of Windows XP. To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps: 1. Locate the Missing DLL Files: - Go to the old Windows folder in your Windows 7 system (usually in a folder named "Windows.old"). - Navigate to the System32 folder within the old Windows folder. - Search for the DLL files that Cubase 4 is asking for. Register the DLL Files (if necessary): - After copying the DLL files, you might need to register them using the Command Prompt. - Open Command Prompt with administrative privileges. - Use the regsvr32 command followed by the path to the DLL file to register it. For example: regsvr32 C:\Windows\System32\example.dll. 4. Restart Cubase: - Restart Cubase 4 after copying and potentially registering the DLL files. - Check if the issue is resolved and if Cubase 4 runs without errors. If you encounter any specific error messages or need further assistance with this process, feel free to provide more details so I can assist you better.
