Windows 7 Cygwin bash shell wont run

Hi everyone,

I would like to use Cygwin to run a Perl program, so I downloaded Cygwin. I installed the packages under "Cur" (the current stable release). My problem is that whenever I try to start Cygwin bash shell it just appears for a second then exits immediately. I don't know what the problem might be. Please, help me!

Whiuch version of Cygwin are you running. I did a google search and found directions on how to install and run Cygwin 1.7. Are you using that version? Have you checked the event viewer? Anything there? Here is one site that explains the setting up and running Cygwin: Link Removed due to 404 Error
