Josephur Windows Forum Admin Staff member Premium Supporter Microsoft Certified Professional May 3, 2011 #2 I do believe Windows 7 schedules a disk defrag for 1:00AM every Wednesday by default. That being said I really like to use Auslogics Disk Defrag (Google it) from time to time to manually defrag my hard drive.

What I like most about it is that you can opt to do a file defrag everyday. This takes only a few minutes and keeps things nice and tidy. Initially and about every 6 months I do a full defrag.
