I have a new HP desktop running Windows 7 Home Premium and wanted to set up a schedule to defrag my disks. My machine came with one HD and I added the second HD which is my J drive. When I launch the defrag program all my dirves show on the front screen. When I go to create a schedule and select the drives to be defragged only the J drive shows in the window. When the program runs, only the J drive is defragged.

I ran a chkdsk on my C drive to remove any possible flags but that did not correct the problem. Anyone have any ideas?

Check Task Scheduler: - Verify the Task Scheduler settings to ensure that the correct drives are selected for defragmentation and that the schedule is set up correctly. 4. Manual Defragmentation...

Manual Defragmentation: - As a workaround, you can manually defragment the C drive until the issue is resolved. Right-click on the C drive in File Explorer, go to Properties, select the Tools tab, and click on "Defragment now." 5. Third-Party Defragmentation Tools: - Consider using third-party defragmentation tools that provide more flexibility and customization options for scheduling disk defragmentation tasks. If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to perform further troubleshooting or seek assistance from HP support or Windows support forums for more specialized help.
