DNS server not responding - tried everything - help!

#1
The only thing that repairs the broken connection is ipconfig /release & ipconfig /renew that I now need to do every 5mins. Have tried updating drivers, restarting power of both pc and router, setting the dns on automatic and setting it on openDNS... still getting the same message.

The connection seems to break off more ofthen when also my phone is connected to my wifi.

You might try turnng off IPv6 if you are not using it,there are strange problems related to IPv6.

I'm having the same problem but only at home. All of our other wifi devices connect to the router except my laptop. It connects to all other wireless routers. Ipv6 is off.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

If you are not connecting to the router that is a DHCP issue not a DNS issue. The first thing to try is reboot the router if not yet done. Second is to turn off wireless security TEMPORARLY and see if it will connect. Third uninstall the wireless driver sutdown and let windows reinstall.

Manually assign an IP outside of the DHCP range.
