Hey,

I just want to preface this by saying I tried troubleshooting using similar forums but was unsuccessful.
Here's my situation: I have a Motorola SB6580 with a pretty fast internet speed. When I use my laptop (Windows 7 64-bit) via ethernet everything works perfectly! But when I connect using wi-fi, I get full bars and it even says I'm connected, but websites either partially load or give me errors. Windows troubleshooting just says my DNS isn't responding. My iPad2 and guest's computers all work perfectly with the wifi.
I know I don't have any viruses because I just reformatted my computer.
I'm lost :/

Here is my IPConfig data for my laptop (via wifi - which doesn't work)

Solution
It seems like you're encountering connectivity issues with your Wi-Fi connection on your Windows 7 laptop. Based on the information you provided, the wireless connection appears to be connected, but websites either partially load or give DNS errors. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue: 1. Resetting the TCP/IP Stack: - Open Command Prompt as an administrator. - Type the following commands one by one and press Enter after each:
Code:
netsh winsock reset netsh int ip reset ipconfig /release ipconfig /renew
2. Flush DNS Resolver Cache: - In Command Prompt, run:
Code:
 ipconfig /flushdns

2. Flush DNS Resolver Cache: - In Command Prompt, run:

3. Check DNS Settings: - Ensure that your DNS settings are configured correctly. You can try using Google DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) or OpenDNS servers (208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220). 4. Update Wireless Adapter Driver: - Check if there are any updates available for your Realtek wireless adapter driver. You can download and install the latest driver from the Realtek website or via Device Manager. 5. Check for Interference: - Nearby electronic devices or physical obstructions can interfere with Wi-Fi signals. Make sure your laptop is in a clear line of sight to the router. 6. Disable IPv6: - Sometimes IPv6 can cause connectivity issues. You can disable it temporarily to see if it makes a difference. 7. Power Cycle Router: - Turn off your router, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on. Sometimes a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues. After trying these steps, test your Wi-Fi connection again to see if the issue persists. If the problem continues, there may be other factors contributing to the connectivity issues. Let me know if you need further assistance or if you have any other questions!
