Hi,
I have XP mode running well for several programs in Windows 7.

Dreamweaver 8.02 installed fine but I cannot get a connection to the internet. Windows Explorer works fine and I can download files from within XP mode.

I have the identical FTP settings that I had before on another computer. I have called my web host to double check etc. I also have a trial version of Adobe CS5 Dreamweaver working fine, uploading and downloading to my webhost and accessing my remote server etc.

But I need to run Dreamweaver 8 for various reasons - its just such an easier program to use.

My guess is that there is some misalignment between guest and host around the internet settings.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?

thanks.

Since Windows Explorer works fine and you can download files from within XP mode, but Dreamweaver 8 is having trouble connecting, it might indicate a configuration issue specific to Dreamweaver or the internet settings in XP mode. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue: 1. Firewall Settings: - Check the firewall settings in XP mode. Make sure Dreamweaver is allowed through the firewall to access the internet. - You can modify firewall settings by going to Control Panel > Windows Firewall. 2. Proxy Settings: - Check if Dreamweaver is configured to use any specific proxy settings that might be blocking its internet connection. - You can check and modify proxy settings within Dreamweaver. 3. Network Configuration: - Ensure that the network settings in XP mode are correctly configured. Verify that the network adapter is enabled and working. - You can check the network settings by going to Control Panel > Network Connections. 4. Compatibility Mode: - Try running Dreamweaver 8 in compatibility mode. Right-click on the Dreamweaver shortcut, go to Properties > Compatibility, and select an earlier version of Windows that it is known to work with. 5. Reinstall Dreamweaver: - If none of the above steps work, consider reinstalling Dreamweaver 8. This might resolve any installation issues that are causing the internet connection problem. By going through these steps, you may be able to identify and resolve the issue with Dreamweaver 8.02 not connecting to the internet within XP mode on Windows 7.
