Windows 7 Driver troubles with DVD-ROM

Hello. I have some troubles with my DVD-ROM. Sometimes it disappears and only reboot can help.

How can I deal with it?

When you right-click and choose properties, then click the driver tab, does it state driver version is 6.1.700.0?

This is a Windows 7 compatible driver.

Driver version is 6.1.7048.0
So it's very strange that my problem exists.

What build and version are you using? 32-bit or 64-bit?

I've heard many bad experiences with that build. I suggest you format and use the original or 7022

My thumb drives didn't show up consistently for awhile. Then I discovered that empty thumb drives didn't show up but thumb drives that did have data did show up. I found a box to tick to "show empty devices". Darned if I remember where.

Is your intermittent problem consistent with empty versus data?
