SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. — Deputies who were called to deal with a man who was passed out near a restaurant said the man had an interesting explanation for how he got there.
Spartanburg deputies were called to Applebee’s on Rainbow Lake Road at about 10 p.m. Tuesday. Deputies said they found Scott Alan Henshaw passed out under a tree. The deputies said that they roused Henshaw, but he could not stand without staggering.
The police report said that Henshaw, who was wearing sunglasses despite the time of day, “smelled strongly of alcohol beverage, slurred his speech, and was drooling on himself.”
The deputies said when they Henshaw how he had gotten to the restaurant, he said, “On my jet ski.” There is no body of water new the Applebee’s.
Henshaw was charged with public disorderly conduct-intoxication. He is being held in the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
Henshaw's moped was located in the parking lot of Applebee's and was towed.
