Windows Vista Ear Phone Jack

The ear phone jack has stopped working on GW laptop M6307 running VHP. I have run every test available to me and restored to a date when I know it was working...No dice. When plugging in the jack the speakers still play with no sound in the phones. There are no signs of a loose or bad connection.There were no downloads or updates of any kind. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers. Any hints???

Thank You...Looks as if this is a hardware failure.Hard to believe.
