This combination does not work here, in previous versions of Windows 7, and Final RTM. If I close Setpoint it immediately works. I prefer to use ALchemy with some games under Windows 7 so I get less sound lag. It uses OpenAL if it doesn't find DSound.

In Windows 7 RTM/Final
ALchemy 1.25.10
Enemy Territory - Quake Wars 1.5.12624
Logitech Setpoint 4.80.103

It seems like you're experiencing compatibility issues with ALchemy, Logitech SetPoint, and your games, particularly in Windows 7 RTM/Final. Here are a few points to consider regarding your setup: 1. ALchemy Compatibility: ALchemy is a tool developed by Creative Technology to restore EAX (Environmental Audio Extensions) and DirectSound3D for older games on Windows Vista and later operating systems, including Windows 7. It can help reduce sound lag and improve audio quality in games that rely on DirectSound. 2. Logitech SetPoint: SetPoint is Logitech's software that allows you to customize your Logitech mouse, keyboard, or other input devices. In your case, it seems that there might be a conflict between ALchemy and SetPoint...
In your case, it seems that there might be a conflict between ALchemy and SetPoint. Closing SetPoint resolves the issue, which suggests there might be an interference or incompatibility between the two software packages. 3. Game Compatibility: You mentioned using ALchemy with Enemy Territory - Quake Wars version 1.5.12624. ALchemy is known to enhance the audio experience in games that use older audio technologies. To address the issue you're facing, you could try the following steps: - Disabling SetPoint: Since closing SetPoint resolves the problem, you can try keeping it closed while running your games with ALchemy. This might be a temporary workaround to use ALchemy effectively. - Compatibility Modes: You can try running ALchemy and your games in compatibility mode to simulate an older Windows environment. Right-click on the executable files, go to Properties, and under the Compatibility tab, select the appropriate compatibility mode for Windows 7. - Updating Software: Ensure that you have the latest versions of ALchemy and Logitech SetPoint installed. Newer versions might have resolved compatibility issues that existed in the older versions you mentioned (ALchemy 1.25.10 and SetPoint 4.80.103). By following these steps and experimenting with different settings, you may be able to find a setup that allows you to use ALchemy with your games on Windows 7 while minimizing conflicts with Logitech SetPoint.
